Dr Tess Byrne
Dr Tessa Byrne began with Toorak Fine Dentistry in 2011 after studying dentistry at Griffith university, Queensland and was awarded the award from academic excellence every year of her studies. She is a member of the Australian Dental Association, and the Australian and New Zealand society of Paediatric Dentistry. She was the representative for dentistry on the board of Future Health Leaders in 2011 and 2012. She was awarded a national award for Outstanding Contribution to Indigenous health Communities in 2010 by Rural Health Workforce Australia.This was for her involvement in developing a volunteer, student-run emergency dental clinic in Cherbourg, an Indigenous community in Queensland.
She has a particular interest in paediatric and aged care dentistry. She has an upstream approach to dentistry focusing on prevention and education, and loves seeing her patients achieve good oral health outcomes.
Ms Gizella Papp – Dental Hygienist
A long standing member of staff Gizella has been working at Toorak Fine Dentistry for over 18 years. Originally a dentist from Hungary after moving to Australia Gizella undertook a bridging course to become a registered Dental Hygienist at the University of Adelaide.
Gizella has a strong focus on patient care and oral health education. She regularly attends courses to study the latest on patient oral hygiene treatment and home care routines. Gizella enjoys spending time with her two daughters and going to Pilates in her spare time.
Eddie Butler, Oral Health Therapist
(Bachelor of Oral Health-University of Melbourne)
Graduating from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Oral Health degree, Eddie has worked in both the public and private health sector as an oral health therapist. In 2009 Eddie joined the Team here at Toorak fine dentistry.
Whilst working across the sectors Eddie has grown to understand the importance that oral health has within the community. Believing strongly in evidence based dentistry and patient education he has committed himself to a level of excellence for his clinical, educational and consultant work.
Eddie enjoys working with his patients to achieve a high standard of oral health and has a keen interest in treating children.
Along with his clinical work Eddie helps Dr Gronow with our complimentary consultations for treatment planning.
In his spare time Eddie is and avid skier and enjoys playing the bagpipes.
Ms Ali Rye - Dental Hygienist
One of the newest members of the Toorak Fine Dentistry Team Ali joined us in 2012 after graduating from the University of Adelaide in 2011 on a scholarship for academic excellence. Registered with the Australian Dental Board and the dental Hygienists associated of Australia, Ali enjoys continuing her education with professional development courses both nationally and internationally.
Ali’s prime clinical focus is on preventive dentistry, orthodontics maintenance, implant and periodontal maintenance as well as working with children. Recently moving here from Adelaide Ali loves exploring Melbourne, She also enjoys cooking and a love for animals.
Ms Marie McAndrew
Joining our team in early 2000, Marie as practice manager assists our dentists with their visions and goals for the practice, manages staff and handles our office administration and accounting. Marie’s experience working as a clinical chairside assistant, has helped in dealing with the varying needs of our patients.
Marie is always happy to offer to our patients her extensive dental knowledge to assist patients with making treatment decisions, and helping with cosmetic consultations.
